Kimberley Kaye biography
Kimberley was born September 17, 1980 in Kingston, Jamaica. Art has been her passion from a very early age but it was not until 2003 that she decided to devote herself completely to it. Leaving her Biology career in Florida, she moved back to Jamaica to paint. Shortly after she had her first solo exhibition, which was very successful. In 2005 she had her second show, at Grosvenor Gallery in Kingston, which completely sold out. Kimberley is now pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art at the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York City, under a partial Silas H. Rhodes Scholarship. At SVA Kimberley is experimenting with the figurative and abstract in her drawing, painting and sculpture, while never forsaking her Jamaican landscapes and people, which are her biggest inspirations.
